Two bands play on Road Race Day at the Pub: 12:00noon to 4:00PM Patsy Whelan and 9:00PM to close Joshua Tree - U2 Cover Band

2009 Road Race Saturday August 1st at 10AM

The race started at 10AM on Saturday, Aug 1, 2009, at the Irish Pub with check in from 8AM to 9:30. This is one hour earlier than in prior years. The one our earlier start time was designed to improve traffic flow in the busy Saturday noon time and also provided a cooler running period. The race benefits the Town of Harwich Ambulance Fund. The 5.2 mile course is well marked with ample water stations.

Post race activities include an awards ceremony and live Irish entertainment all day and all night. Featured bands:

Overall First Place Male and First Place Female Finishers received 14K gold Claddagh rings and Waterford Irish crystal. Trophies were awarded to the top Finishers of each division.

The 2008 Irish Pub Road Race Results

JOE NAVAS took mens and overall first place in the 2008 race with a time of 27:51minutes and CARA KIERNAN won the 2008 female division and her age group with 34:20 minutes. The wheelchair results were CHRIS AHEARN in first place with 32:00 minutes and PETER DOVELL at 44:31minutes. FROST CUNNINGHAM won the male 14 and under race (40:09 minutes); CAIT CALLHAHAN won the female 14 and under race (44:12).

CHRIS LOTSBOM won the male 15-18 age group (32:15 minutes); CONOR O'BRIEN won the female 15-18 age group (42:19 minutes); TIMOTHY CATOGGIO won the 19-29 age group (28:24 minutes); CARA KIERNAN won the 19-29 age group (34:20 minutes); JOE NAVAS won the 30-39 age group (27:51 minutes); PAULA O'CONNOR won the female 30-39 age group (36:30 minutes

Big Ed's Entourage 2008 Irish Pub Road Race

It is one of my Dad's favorite days of the year so we had t-shirts made for him that say Big Ed's Entourage. On the back it says We run because he makes us!" ..." We will be there again this year!"

The 2007 Irish Pub Road Race Results

2007 Irish Pub Road Race winners, BRENDAN PRINDIVILLE from Hamden CT won the male division and overall at 27:22 minutes and KAREN FRIEDMAN from Brewster MA won the female division with a 32:44 time.

The 2007 and Prior Irish Pub Road Race

The 29th Annual Irish Pub Road Race took place Saturday, August 4th, 2007 at The Irish Pub, Route 28, West Harwich, Massachusetts, to benefit The Town of Harwich Ambulance Fund. The course is 5.25 miles long.

Trophies were awarded by category. After the race, a picnic lunch and cool beverages were served. Live entertainment in the pub all day and into the night. The Harwich Fire Brigade pipe band entertained, both outdoors and in the pub. Irish step dancers performed. Music and dancing for all in the Pub.
